Former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo spoke on the time he scored against Juventus back in 2002 following Benevento goalkeeper Alberto Brignoli’s last minute winner at the weekend.

“Vieri brushed the ball at the last minute, but I touched it last and Inter drew, Bobo’ was fighting for the Capocannoniere at the time, but I was the one who equalised against Juve,” the 46-year-old insisted in an interview with Radio Anch’io Sport.

Toldo, who represented Inter between 2001 and 2010 then spoke on the Derby D’Italia and what VAR means for such a high pressure fixture.

Juventus-Inter will be a hard-fought match. With VAR, the best team will win. There are no more excuses or suspicions. VAR has helped the game.”

He concluded giving his reasoning as to why Inter find themselves at the top of the Serie A table.

“It is not just thanks to Spalletti but also a synergy between the club and players. Inter have good players, Spalletti’s said so himself.”
