Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini previewed Saturday’s Derby D’Italia match with Inter TV.

“In addition to the fact that it is a game against an important team like Juventus, due to the situation in the league standings, it becomes a fundamental match for us.

Many have said Inter have an advantage in the scudetto race due to not having to play in Europe. Gagliardini agrees there is an advantage but stresses that Inter want to be playing in them.

“Playing in Europe is a goal for every team. Playing them is always a pleasure, but not having these commitments saves mental energy, but the goal is to be there. Inter’s goal, as we have always said, is to finish in the top four. We will see where we are in March then we will say where we can go from there.”

At this stage of the season last year Inter were 18 points worse off and Gagliardini shared what he believes has made the difference.

“Last year we had so many ups and downs but this year we are finding continuity in the results and in our games. I think it can be a positive year for us in which we can take great satisfaction from it.”
