Former Inter player Nicola Berti spoke on Inter’s continued good start to the season after they extended their unbeaten run to 16 games over the weekend.

“I would say that Inter started on the right foot. If we are up there after the first two match days after the winter break, we can cause everyone problems. Inter are a solid, strong team,” he told Radio Rai 1.

Berti was then asked who he preferred between historic goalkeeping great Walter Zenga and Inter’s modern day goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.

“Walter is historic, Handanovic is a phenommenon.”

He then shared his thoughts on the 0-0 Derby D’Italia draw from the weekend.

“Looking at the game the other night, I noticed that Icardi remains isolated up top. There is still a lot to improve, the margins to improve are there even though they are first in the standings. It was not a great game but Inter defended well.”

He concluded the interview by discussing the upcoming January mercato.

“Inter will probably opt to sign 2-3 young and strong Italian players.”
