Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia spoke to the media when he passed the mixed zone after tonight’s game against Pordenone, this is what he had to say:

At the end this game had to be decided through penalties. “It was hard, we knew that these type of games have their hidden pitfalls, but the important thing was to go through to the next round.  It does not matter how, we want to finish high in every competition”.

Was it a bad Inter or a good Pordenone? “They did really well, defended well. We had a couple of opportunities and it would have been best to score as early as possible becuase as time passes it becomes more and more dangerous. Compliments to Pordenone, starting from tomorrow we try to correct everything that did not go well tonight”.

Is Dalbert and Karamoh outside the team? “Playing in Italy is different with respect to the Italian championship. They are young and it was not that long ago that they arrived, they still need to learn Italian, a lot of things change, I know that from my own experiences abroad. We will see that they are quality players, in Inter of course you do not have much time but they know that they will be able to prove their value”.

Do we need to re-evaluate the performance in the championship after tonight’s game? “Absolutely no, if we would start to think like that we would go crazy, you guys too. We have to remain convinced of our qualities and as always we know what we can and we know what we have to improve. Now we focus on the game aginst Udines on Saturday”.

Back to Coppa Italia, how about a derby? “Yes, let us see how things turn out. There are still a lot of days and two games in between”.
