Brazilian club Santos have elected their new President. Jose Carlos Peres will lead the club between 2nd of January 2018 until 2020. He will be operative however from next Tuesday 19th December where he will meet with outgoing President Modesto Roma.

Brazilian website A Tribuna reports that the summit between the two will be important to see what phase of negotiations that had been initiated by the previous leader for players such as Gabriel Barbosa and Robinho. At the moment both deals remain on standby, until they can see what the new strategies for the club will be.

Peres went on to say “I want to understand with the board of directors what options we have. I have to listen to them, then I will cross them with our intentions and decide on what is the best course of action for the club.”

Gabigol is currently on loan at Portuguese side Benfica from Inter.
