Shortly after the game against Pordenone, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti talked to the microphones of InterTV, here is his analysis of what went down in the most dramatic game tonight: “These kind of games can go like this. When things get messed up this gives your opponent more strenght and you loose some confidence. Tonight we could see the solidity of the team where we created many opportunities. When it is time for penalties you give everything that you have. ”
So, does the mind finally make the legs go? “The fact that you are strong with an extreme conviction of what you are capable of both make you do the right things. Especially Daniele Padelli made a great effort on the penalties. These players have a great character and you could see that when it was time for the shoot-out, compliments to them”.
The players must be tired now? “We have to get used to that, we can not handle them with too much care, then it becomes dangerous. Today there were only a few players that played the last game against Juventus. Icardi, Perisic and Brozovic did that, but tonight’s game serves as a good practice for them. We do not take any risks.”
Double marking on Inter’s offensive wingers, is this the way to stop Inter? “Absolutely, the teams study us and discover what tricks to use against us. We did not make it easier for us by moving the ball way too slow tonight. When that happens, you can skip a pass without that being noticed”.
