Gremio’s Arthur has been on Inter’s radar for the past couple of weeks and acquiring him has become a lot more difficult according to reports.

Calciomercato.com report that the Brazilian midfielder has also attracted interest from Spanish giants Barcelona. Barcelona officials have been in contact with Arthur’s representatives and it is something that has angered the leaders of Gremio, who were recently crowned the Copa Libertadores champions.

The Brazilian top flight club are adamant that they will only allow the 21-year-old, who has also drawn interest from reigning Premier League champions Chelsea, to depart the club if his €50 million release clause is met in full.

As a result of Gremio’s stance, Barcelona are now seeking out alternative targets. Inter’s interest meanwhile has cooled due to the fact they, like Barcelona, are unwilling to pay the aforementioned clause.

This season, Arthur has appeared in 39 games for the Porto Alegre based club and got on the score sheet once and has just as many assists.
