Inter captain Mauro Icardi spoke to Inter TV after the season’s first defeat when the Nerazzurri lost 1-3 at home against Udinese in the Serie A in the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The Argentinian striker highlighted the lesson he and his teammates should learn from the defeat: “There shouldn’t be any excuses. I felt we did good but lost the game. We had 20 attempts but couldn’t find the goal. I believe in the work we do daily and we will continue doing that. Football is like this: somedays you win, somedays you may not.”

Icardi continued that “Pordenone was a separate game altogether. We played a complete different team. We should take the positives from the match and move on. My goal was something positive for me in the whole game. It came at the right time when we needed it. We should ignore the negatives and work hard again to improve. We have started a great journey, we know our goals and we need to keep working.”
