Rome-based Corriere dello Sport report in today’s paper edition of the newspaper that Inter will almost certainly sign Atalanta’s young central defender Alessandro Bastoni when the transfer window opens in January.

Bastoni, who Inter signed from Atalanta in the summer but loaned him back to Atalanta until the end of the season, is not getting any first team football by coach Gian Piero Gasperini and representative’s from both clubs will meet soon to try to wrap up the deal.

According to the report, Inter will need to raise the bonuses in the transfer in Atalanta’s favor when Bastoni is in Milano in January in order for the Bergamo club to accept a transfer now rather than in June. This should not be a problem as the two clubs have already agreed terms with regards to the transfer fee itself which is around €10 million.

Furthermore, Corriere dello Sporr reports that Inter will go all in to try and sign Lazio’s Dutch international defender Stefan De Vrij on a free transfer when the player’s deal with Lazio expires. However, the Dutchman reportedly prefers a move away from the Serie A and with clubs like Liverpool, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid interested in him Inter and Juventus will face stiff competition in order to sign him.

Lazio have still not given up on trying to extend the De Vrij’s contract and the parties have agreed on everything except for the minimum release fee clause which the Biancocelesti want to raise beyond the €25 million the Dutch player’s entourage are have asked for.
