The media continue to talk about all the interest in Milan Skriniar from around Europe, for example, Barcelona are looking to pair him with Umtiti for many years to come. As in any case like this, Corriere dello Sport discuss the need for Inter to sit with him and his representatives to discuss a contract renewal.
There are still 2-3 appearances up for grabs, but assuming he does not miss out, Skriniar will have started the whole first half of the season for Inter which was intelligently added to the contract by Ausilio and Gardini in order to improve relations with Sampdoria, to prove they would offer their star player a chance at the top level – as Corriere dello Sport reveal.
His initial contract is “only” worth €1.5 million per season with motivation to earn an additional €200,000 in bonuses, in order to make him more effective in the Nerazzurri’s climb to finish in top four.
However, should Skriniar continue to perform in the coming months, Inter could receive quite a few big offers for their young defender, who is now considered one of the best centre-back prospects in the world right now. It can be assumed that Inter management will need to renegotiate his contract towards the end of the season, including an increase of salary to maybe over the €2 million mark. The Slovakian is currently considered to be worth around €50 million by Inter.
