What began so well with Inter creating so many chances and piling pressure on Sassuolo, ended up as what can be best described as the nightmare before Christmas when Mauro Icardi missed a penalty and Diego Falcinelli scored the only goal of the match to gift the Neroverdi all three points.
The Nerazzurri created more than enough chances away at the Mapei Stadium to wrap up the win today but on a day where Mauro Icardi missed more chances than he has previously during his entire career in total coupled with individual mistakes from Marcelo Brozovic and Danilo D’Ambrosio, gifted Sassuolo the win who scored on their first real chance of the match.
Yet again Inter ruin Christmas for themselves and invite Roma and Lazio into the top 3 after picking up no points for the second match in a row against opposition where Spalletti’s men should have picked up six.
