The best player in black and blue on the pitch today in Inter’s game against Lazio, Joao Cancelo talked to the gathering journalists in the mixed zone after the 0-0 draw and had the following to say:
No victory tonight, but you have gotten more playing minutes and it seems like you are starting to find your identity in the team?
“Yes, a victory would have been nice but I think a draw was the most fair result. Now that Danilo D’Ambrosio is injured I get more playing time and I want to take advantage of every opportunity I get to play.”
The transfer window will open soon, is the rumour of you returning to Valencia true? Or can you say for sure that you will remain at Inter?
“I am still owned by Valencia but currently I am under contract with Inter. I can not answer that question because this is something that has to be resolved between the two clubs. But for now I have a contract with Inter.”
Would you like to stay with Inter for another season?
“I am sorry, I can not respond to that question because the ball is in Valencia’s court and it is difficult for me to have an opinion.”
Where did Lazio hurt you the most?
“Lazio has strong players in every department. I do not think they put us in too much trouble, they are a good team and therefore they tried to play their game.”
