Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio and Director of Football Walter Sabatini want Manchester United player Henrikh Mkhitaryan as Inter’s new trequartista and they have chosen the trade chip in that deal to be Portuguese midfielder Joao Mario.

However, now it seems like Manchester United coach José Mourinho is not interested in letting his playmaker Mkhitaryan – who has also attracted interest from former club Borussia Dortmund – to go out on loan.

Reports from the UK and newspaper Daily Star suggests that Inter has to back off from the loan swap deal sending Joao Mario to Manchester and Mkhitaryan the other way.

Instead “The Special One” wants to sell his trequartista to the highest bidder, thereby making room for Manchester United’s next big transfer: Frenchman Antonio Griezmann, currently with Spanish side Atletico Madrid. This news will come as a blow to Inter who are extremely limited with what they can do in the mercato due to Financial Fair Play.
