SuperDeportes report both Valencia and agent Jorge Mendes are putting increasing pressure on Inter to allow full back Joao Cancelo to allow him to cut his loan spell in Milan short and return to Valencia six months earlier than planned.

Inter have knocked back the Spanish club’s request back more than once but Valencia are willing to wait until nearer the end of the transfer window in the hope they can convince Inter to change their minds on the Portuguese international. For the time being, Valencia will look at other possibilities for the right back role but will not rule out Cancelo still.

Cancelo suffered an injury soon after arriving at Inter which meant he was playing catch up for most of the season and then he was tasked with trying to dislodge Danilo D’Ambrosio who has asserted himself as the undisputed starting right back in Luciano Spalletti’s side. With D’Ambrosio’s recent injury Cancelo has been able to take advantage and has played in the past five games in all competitions.
