The new head coach of Brazilian side Santos, Jair Ventura, was interviewed by Brazilian media outlet GloboEsporte regarding a possible return to the club for Inter’s enfant terrible  Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa.

Accordin to the report, when Jair Ventura was asked how the negotiations are going to bring the Gabigol back he replied that: “It is very difficult to say at this moment. I do not have full control over the situation. I know the quality which Gabigol has but we cannot do anything right now. I need to think about the team and my current players and concentrate on the upcoming matches.”

Gabigol signed for Inter on August 27th 2016 for a reported €29,5 million but has struggled to make an impact since then as he has only appeared ten times for the Nerazzurri across all competitions scoring once in the process. This past summer he loaned out to Benfica to get more first team football but has also struggled there and so now a return back home to Brazil is rumored.
