Alfredo Pedullà has provided some updates on Inter’s ongoing pursuit of new signings, as they look to bolster Luciano Spalletti’s squad ahead of what is sure to be a challenging second half of the season. The Italian sports journalist had the following to say on two of the Nerazzurri’s main transfer targets:

“Gaitán is a difficult operation just now, especially because he has not yet secured a European passport and so he would be required to fill a non-EU spot in Inter’s squad. As for Ramires, we must remain patient and stop short of closing the doors on his arrival.”

It therefore looks unlikely that the Argentine will join from Atlético Madrid, though it is too early to rule it out completely. Meanwhile, Piero Ausilio is in Barcelona today with a view to completing a deal for Brazilian midfielder Rafinha. Gerard Deulofeu’s future will also reportedly be up for discussion.
