Inter and Santos have found an initial agreement over an 18 month loan involving Gabriel Barbosa according to a report from Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, the club’s remain some way apart when it comes to his wages. The Brazilian club have offered to pay between 40-50% of the €4.5 that the 21-year-old would earn between now and the end of the loan in June 2019. Inter however have no intention of paying the other half and despite the player already training with his former club, they could force him to go back to Benfica.

Benfica are understood to be unhappy with Gabigol and his performances, so much so that upon returning he would be demoted to their reserve aide if Inter and Santos can not come to an agreement by the end of the January transfer window. Moreover, should Benfica try and send Gabigol back to Milan, Inter could block it.
