Inter defender Joao Miranda has revealed his and teammates increased experience will help them reach their goal of qualifying for the Champions League this season.

“This is the club’s best season since I have been here. Now we have more experience, the goal is to return to the Champions League, and I think we will succeed,” he said when speaking to Esporte Interativo, a news outlet from his homeland of Brazil.

Aside from more experience, Inter also have the added bonus of a top manager in Luciano Spalletti, who Miranda was full of praise for.

“This year we also have Luciano Spalletti on the bench. He is Inter’s best purchase this season, he is a coach who is working very well with this team. He protects his players and he knows how to train them right.”

Miranda has been near ever present for Inter this term and played a crucial part in Inter’s unbeaten run at the start of the season. The centre back has missed the past few matches through injury but is back in training and expected to make his return for Sunday’s fixture with Roma.
