The future of Inter midfielder João Mário remains clouded in uncertainty. With his days at San Siro seemingly numbered, there are a number of potential options on the table for the Portuguese international to consider. The Nerazzurri have tried to involve him in several deals with the likes of Sevilla, Atlético Madrid, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, but so far none of these have come to fruition.

According to O Jogo, Valencia have now joined the race to secure his services and will look to complete a deal should Guangzhou Evergrande manage to sign Geoffrey Kondogbia on loan with option to buy from Inter. However, the former Sporting CP schemer’s first choice remains the Premier League and his agent Kia Joorabchian is well aware of this.

Inter are open to the idea of allowing him to leave on loan with option to buy, but also want to secure a percentage of any future resale value. This is because they are unwilling to give up hope of recouping most of the  €45 million spent on him 18 months ago. Meanwhile, the Chinese Super League champions are offering  €45 million for Kondogbia, which Valencia flat out refuse to pay.
