English Premier League side West Ham have sparked an interest in Inter midfielder Joao Mario according to reports.

According to a report from French news outlet RMC Sport, the Hammers have started talks with Inter over a possible transfer this transfer window. They hope to acquire him on the basis of a loan but it is also understood that Joao Mario is not entirely enthused about joining the London based club but certainly more open to the move than others.

There has been plenty of interest in Joao Mario in recent weeks with Watford, Everton and Chinese clubs all believed to be interested also. In addition to this, Inter have considered him as a trade chip for many potential moves involving the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Javier Pastore and most lately Joaquin Correa.

The 24-year-old arrived at Inter 18 months ago in Inter’s second most expensive transfer of all time but has failed to regularly live up to expectations and cement a place in the starting 11.
