Gabriel Barbosa will soon become a Santos player, again. Corriere dello Sport assures that “yesterday the Brazilian club was convinced to make an offer that would satisfy Inter by paying all or at least a portion of Gabigol’s 3 million salary, as well as an initial loan fee that would see Gabigol remain in Brazil until next January.”

In December it was made clear that Gabigol was willing to make a financial sacrifice himself in order to return home, to the team that gave him his value in the first place.

The young Brazilian came to Inter in the Summer window of 2016/17 with high expectations and a great profile, unfortunately for reasons unknown, he was never considered for the team and only scored one goal in less than a full games worth of minutes. His skills were on display for all to see in many of those short appearances but excuses regarding tactics kept him from playing anymore.

Hoping to recover himself at Benfica, an almost identical story unfolded, this time with stories of a poor attitude emerging, leading to his early return from loan. Which brings us to the present day. It can be assumed that he will get regular game time at Santos but will he be able to solidify himself back at Inter again?
