Sky Sport Italia report that Inter have not given up on signing Lazio’s Dutch international central defender Stefan De Vrij, whose contract with the Biancocelesti expires at the end of June 2018.

According to the report Lazio and representatives of the Dutchman are yet to agree terms over a contract extension as the clock continues to countdown February 1st at which point De Vrij is free to negotiate with whomever he wants to. This would also imply that Lazio risk losing a very good player on a free transfer, something the club’s President Claudio Lotito does not want.

Sky Sport report further that the player’s agents have not yet arrived in Rome to talk with Lazio who on their part express confidence in an agreement being found. However with every passing day, the Nerazzurri become bolder in their attempts in trying to convince the Dutchman not to sign an extension with Lazio and instead sit out the remainder of his contract before making the move to the black and blue part of Milano at the end of June.
