Piero Ausilio has met with some intermediaries over a potential deal for Manuel Fernandes according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Inter sporting director is understood to have met with the intermediaries last Thursday and has been in continuous contact with both them and the midfielder’s club Lokomotiv Moscow since.

However, maisfutebol report that acquiring Fernandes will not be an easy task for the Nerazzurri. This is simply down to the fact that Russian club do not want to part ways with the Portuguese player this transfer window due to the crucial role he has played in putting Lokomotiv eight points clear at the top of the Russian top flight this season.

The 31-year-old has started all of his sides 28 games this season in all competitions and played the entire game in all bar three of them. The former Besiktas and Valencia man has scored nine goals and assisted a further six and split his time between playing on the left wing and as an attacking midfielder for the most part.
