Inter coach Luciano Spalletti stopped by Italian media outlet RAI after the Serie A game against Roma that ended in a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.

Spalletti began by talking about the match saying that “today we tried to do something different, we tried to  get more players in their penalty area but we did not have the right pace and quality during the constructive phase. We made it easy for them and then their goal came but in the second half there was a good reaction and this happens because you have the right mental attitude.”

The former Roma tactician was asked what he thinks is the reason behind the fact that Inter have not won since December 2nd replying that: “Because we have lost some easy points, and then at times we have been playing very badly. Some things we have to put into the right place and I think that there are some players that still have to realise that in order to fight against teams like this, you cannot rely on other players but only on yourself and your character.”

Spalletti was asked if the imminent arrival of Rafinha will be the catalyst to set everything right again to which he replied “No. Because you cannot tell someone who has not played for a year and a half to make everything right again. It is us that have to help him, not the other way around. Rafinha has played 5-6 games in the last 12 months. The match rhythm is another thing. The management and I speak every day during lunch and it is obvious that my opinions matter when it comes to making a decision. We spent a period where we ended up short, but then up to this point we made up for those shortcomings.

“I have never complained to the club, although I have had my opportunities. At the beginning we started out with great potential, something that decreased as our possibilities on the transfer market were more and more restricted. In the back we need some backup and in the middle we need a player with such qualities that enable us to fight up there with the top teams” Spalletti continued.

In conclusion the Nerazzurri tactician was asked what the difference is between this Inter and the Inter from the first half of the season to which he replied: “not much actually. We just need make a bit more of an effort. We have lost a bit of enthusiasm and we do not have solid character. This is why we are having the period we are having right now.”

I prefer to select dalbert for the next game. Santon make ridiculous mistakes twice that end with a goal. Like against lazio

Spalletti: “We Cannot Expect Rafinha To Fix Everything” —

of course NOT, IT IS YOUR JOB genius !

    • No Vidal_No Problem

inter squad is trash bruh …if he get’s us to 4th place that’s already too much I think..I’m not even expecting us to finish 3rd..
next year we really need to get rid of 5 players in our starting XI and get some quality players

People where jumping at the beginning of the season due to the preseason an the run in the first 16 games.

I decided to wait on the conclusion to give my opinion about Spalletti an the team!!!!

is no the first time that I see them doing the first round of the league to fall apart after.

The objective has always been the 4th place not the winning the league.

Reconsider your starting XI, tie mediocre useless Gaglia and Crossdreva to the bench, and u’ll fix the majority of problems!

    • Cdp

You forgot that cristiano ronaldo stopper italian wonderkid left back

      • Il Principe di Persia

He’s bad, and haven’t started some games due to it, but Gaglia and Crossdreva are automatically start every single fucking game, regardless of their horrible shows!

Exactly. While they know rafinha chance to fail miserably is so high due to his injury history and match fitness, they still decided to get him. Not only he has to adapt with everything, he also needs to improve his match fitness little by little by playing actual games which will cost us some games.

I would rather fight til the end to sell mario in order to finance pastore operation. If fail, than thinking of getting rafinha or other on loan.

Rafinha has the top chance to be Jovetic, when he played for inter. Which I think, didn’t contribute much

      • kuda

Maybe even worse bro. Jovetic had friends in Inter and know serie A, while rafinha only have icardi and brazilian fellows. But I hope I am wrong.

    • Mamoun

Pastore also gets a lot of injuries

      • kuda

Still a better shot than rafinha.

        • Mamoun

For sure, but I don’t think we can get a loan with option to buy for him, and buying him with Mario’s cash would be very risky because of his injury history.
For Rafinha, at least we can send him back

          • kuda

Yes. But rafinha is also injury prone. It’s just the same.
pastore can offer more certainty and immediate impact. since to qualify to UCL is highly important, I’d rather to bet for pastore even though it involves sacrificing mario and buy pastore outright.
It’s better than loaning someone who is doubtful to have immediate impact, while we only have 16 or more matches to go.

          • Pacho Nerazzuro

Nobody wants to buy Mario and even if they do, it’ll be half the price of Pastore. Inter can’t spend because of FFP, so the gamble on Rafinha is justified and risk free. Hope it works, than get Pastore or better in the summer

    • syahrul sembarang

Hope he have better path then his predecessor montoya.

      • Adi Zuta

        Montoya is worldclass RB

        Ini ausilo’s dream lol

  • kofko

Because none of the players have ever played for a top team fighting for a win every game. Middle class players, middle class mentality middle class club. Period

    • nozanneti

      right !

    • Josip

Well Miranda did,but yeah you are right we do not have a champion in a team…Funny but Rafinha looks like a champ on paper, played for Barcelona, won UCL etc but in reality hes shit
