Former Inter full back Federico Dimarco has spoken on the possibility of returning to the Nerazzurri one day in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 20-year-old was involved in one of the many deals made by Inter in the summer to help break even for financial fair play purposes with the Italian youth international being shipped out to Swiss club FC Sion.

“I would like to come back, of course! I think that, more generally, any young player once owned by Inter wants to return,” he said.

Dimarco then proceeded to discuss some of the memories he has from his time with Inter.

“The memories I have without a doubt are beautiful ones. I came to the club when I was seven years old and I got a lot of satisfaction, winning many trophies with the various youth teams. My debut under Roberto Mancini in the Europa League and in Serie A are obviously unforgettable moments for me.”

I have no idea how he is doing in Sion , he was out on a injury for a while ….bit is the Swiss League anyway…
Last year in Empoli he was ..REALLY BAD.
Empoli lost some games just because of him.
It was his first pro-year , ok, and he might have gotten better , but just to put this in the correct frame of reference:
He is certainly not a sure bet , not a safe solution for now

  • Sean Patrick

Santon is an Inter product, but so is he. Sell Nagatomo and one of D’Ambrosio or Santon, and take him back.

    • ezekiel

he was really bad with empoli.. i don’t think he’s inter material. why should we sign a player that even worst than what we have today.^^

      • Sean Patrick

Is he? Never followed him. Just know he’s seen as promising. But so was Cristiano Biraghi.

        • ezekiel

yeah.. he’s was really bad with napoli. only show briliant glimse once in a while. make many mistake. he would be destroyed by inter’s fans if he play here.

    Style of play
Considered to be a promising young prospect, Dimarco is a left-footed defender who usually plays as a left-back,
although he is also capable of playing on the right. He is known in particular for his pace, tireless running, eye for goal, and his powerful and accurate shot, as well as his ability to interpret the game, which enables him to aid his team both defensively and offensively. In spite of his small stature and slender physique, he possesses significant strength and good technical skills.[15]

i haven’t seen much of the Swiss league this year, but Sion is currently in last place for what I have seen so far he is talented. he has offensive skills, well pace an good shot from distance, he knows who to read the game an can play on the right too. also is good at defending.

      • nozanneti

        sounds nice.
I wonder if biraghi is in any inter plan ??

        • Hitman

Don’t know his on loan in Fiorentina from Pescara.

I really don’t think that Inter will get in the middle of the loan!!!

  • nozanneti

is he in sion first team, how does he play there ??

    • ezekiel

      he’s bad.

  • JAY

    way better than santon

    • he is more fast and more technical than santon, and the pass they have the same. dalbert needs time.more time

      • JAY

        and he goes for goal

  • Michael Rojas

That’s it, Dalbert and DiMarco on the left, Cancelo and D”ambrosio on the right sell nagatomo and santon

    • Stefano

I see that some people actually ” like ” Dalbert ?
      I always wonder :
      Why ?

      • Il Principe di Persia

        I like him too .
Has he had a chance to show what he got? None.

        • Stefano

Well , he has played in 12 or 13 games so far.
          2 or 3 as a starter.
What he showed ME clearly is that he has zero quality.
I mean he is not a football player.
Literally any left back in serie A has more quality , more ball touch precision etc.

          • Il Principe di Persia

Had all those games and I can’t really remember any horrible defensive error which costs us the game

But if u ask about Naga and Santon there is too much

          • Munawir Biki

How about his potential then? He is much younger compare to our another LB so ofc he has more space to improve than Santon or Naga. Even Spal does says earlier that he could help Dalbert like what he did with Emerson Palmieri. Is there any hope that he will usefull for us in the near future?

          • Stefano

Emerson Palmieri was both 1) Better than Dalbert, even since his difficult beginning at Roma .
            2) Younger.

            Dalbert is a lost cause.

      • FCINTER

Dalbert has been a ghost since his arrival. Imagine how bad he is when spalletti chooses santon and Naga over him.

      • Ilir

Because he is better than Santon and never got a real chance in the other hand Santon is a shity player and costed Inter so many lose points and he still plays !!

        • Hitman

Dalbert has had opportunity to show his worth!!! He has fail so far, he has more talent than nagatomo/santon but haven’t finish adapting an convincing Spalletti.

          • Ilir

Yeah they said the same thing about Cancello but now he is one of the best curent players Inter have . As far as i know Dalbert hasn’t found much room with Spalletti maybe because he wasn’t his choice . All he needs is support NOT saying he is not adapting yet to Italian football

          • Stefano

I always thought Cancelo was great and a quality player , he always looked that way to me .
Just like Dalbert always looked like a non – starter.
Not even a pro player of any kind.

          • Hitman

Cancelo got injure after his arrival and he has done good after it. Also his playing time now is due to D’Ambrossio injury. Let’s Spalletti decision now that he is back.

I go to some of the trainings and Dalbert does has support not only from Spalletti but from the players.

But he is still struggling, Spalletti didn’t ask for him but he has to work with the rooster at his disposal.

        • Stefano

He is better tHan Santon only in the sense that he is more physically fit.
Santon always has knee troubles and plays under pain and sufferance.
Otherwise Dalbert is not better than anyone at all.
Pereira was slightly better than Dalbert.
          Enough said.

          • Ilir

Exactly feeling pain it means you can’t stay focused! Beside Speed and crossing Santon is bad for Inter that’s how i see it

          • Stefano

            Yes.
But it does not mean that Dalbert is good for us.
            He was a flop.
            Past tense ,
He has had all the time and chances.
            It’s official now.

      • Michael Rojas

I know we haven’t seen a lot of him but when he does play I think he does a pretty good job. Our other LB’s have been given soo many chances but I think it’s time to let Dalbert play more and get better. He’s also fast which is a plus as he was able to keep up with Felipe Anderson when he came on as a sub for Santon cuz he was just getting his as handed to him. I think with more game time he’d be a good starter for us like we found with Cancelo.
