Italian media outlet Sky Sport Italia reports that Inter are on the verge of signing Argentinian striker Lautaro Martinez from Argeninian club Racing Avellanada where a certain Diego Milito is now the Sporting Director.

According to the report the Nerazzurri are going head to head with La Liga side Atletico Madrid coached by another former Argentinian Inter player, namely Diego Simeone. This is why, Sky Sport Italia reports, Inter have involved Vice-President Javier Zanetti, who directly involved in the negotiations. The Nerazzurri hope that this way they will be able to gain some advantage over El Cholo and his Colchoneros from the Spanish capital given the close relationship the former Inter captain has with the treble hero, Milito.

Furthermore, Sky reports, that Inter have made an offer to Racing of €12 million with add-ons to block the player from being signed from another club and loan him back to Racing where he will stay until the end of the Serie A season in June at which point he will move to Italy.
