Racing Avellanada’s young Argentinian striker Lautaro Martinez was interviewed by Ole about the rumors regarding him leaving Argentina and Racing to play in Europe and Inter.

Martinez began by saying that he would find it very difficult to leave Argentina “without a doubt it would hurt me. Winning a title with this club would be something beautiful, wonderful. In 2014 I got goosebumps: the stadium was full, without an empty seat. It must be spectacular to have a trophy with your name. But until June I will be here and I will give the best of me. So, the club that wants me will have to negotiate again with the President of Racing (Victor Blanco), with my representative and with me: I will make the decision.”

Martinez was asked about his future and the links to the Nerazzurri saying that “Inter is one of the biggest clubs in Italy, they are always fighting for everything, they play in the Champions League. Diego Milito told me about his experiences, he won everything there, he’s an idol, then he told me what the club is. But besides that, Inter is one of the clubs that have been more interested in me, but my agent takes care of these things, I owe it to Racing.”

Do you think you can overcome Milito?

“He’s been a champion twice in Racing, then he won the Champions League and other trophies, what Diego represents for this club is very big, he’s with us all day, he helps us a lot, he gives us his advice, encourages us to continue.”

Last Sunday, at the stadium, Sampaoli and Inter’s Sporting Director, Piero Ausilio were there to watch you. How can you not feel the pressure?

“The truth is that it makes me very happy, I have to go on and overcome myself to prevent people from talking about me before nobody knew me, now when I go out they recognize me … if they talk about me, it means I’m doing things very well.”
