He shared the same jersey number as Yann Karamoh. Now Francesco Moriero analyzes the performance of Yann Karamoh, who also plays in a similar role to the one he played in the mid to late 90’s.

In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport Moriero stated: “Karamoh amuses me, has great qualities, I see in him something of me. He resembles me for the ruthlessness, for the bravado with which he faces his opponents, he aims and jumps them. Players like him, that shirt weighs, but football is fun and someone like Karamoh is good for football, but Meazza did not scare him, he was not scared and he saw himself.

“With Spalletti we are certain that Karamoh will also improve tactically. Luciano is a great coach, he makes the players grow in all aspects, and I would like to say one thing: the opponents will be afraid of Karamoh, thinking twice before going to challenge Inter, because they will know that he has quality and speed. I am for meritocracy and if he deserves it is right then he should play. I still trust him, you can not give up one person after a lot of time. I found myself the day after a game talking about dribbling and individual cues and not tactics. In Italy there is too much discussion on this topic and little of the individual play” Moriero continued.

Karamoh remembers Moriero and Moriero sees himself in the Frenchman, albeit with some differences: “I was perhaps more snappy, he definitely has more strength than I did. The goal is the summary of pure instinct: pass from Rafinha, dribbling and shooting with the left, not his foot. There you do not think about it, just try it. My first goal in the league with Inter scored the Fiorentina at Meazza: Zamorano launches me a long ball, I control and jump the man, then kick diagonally, but I did not think, I pulled. Or the one against Piacenza: I followed my instincts.”

On the subject of insticts what do Moriero’s gut feeling tell him where this Inter will end the season: “Among the first four, in the Champions League. Spalletti is handling the highs and lows that a season presents to you. With balance, and maybe with the instinct of Karamoh.”
