A bitter analysis from Inter coach Luciano Spalletti when speaking to Inter TV after the tough loss against Genoa at Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa’s Marassi district.

Spalletti began by stating that “We have to continue to work on everything and in particular the small things that gives you the advantage. We have to find the self-esteem that we had and that we apparently have lost. Genoa today closed every effort from us trying to construct a  good attack, but we had 2 or 3 chances. Then we had a couple of negative episodes when we were punished. Let’s say that what we did in the second half we should have made in the first half.”

How much does what happened at the first goal affect the rest of the game?

“It always affect your game when you concede a goal like this, especially when you concede it as close to the whistle of the first half as we did. There is still a lot of time to change the situation but of course we have to make a tactical move.”

What kind of solutions can be the result of this defeat?

“I do not think there are any solutions based on the fact that we did not do terribly wrong. You look ahead and do that with the conviction that this is the way to approach each game based on what we are capable of as a team.”
