From missing out on the last World Cup four years ago, to his future after Russia 2018, Inter’s Brazilian central defender Joao Miranda spoke with Sporttv.globo.com during the segment of Ta Na Area: “In 2014 I could have helped Brazil but now I have more experience and more desire to show that I deserve to be there. It was played in my home country, the dream was postponed but now my time has come and I will not think about what could of been years ago. We can only look forward, we are doing great work and we aim to win the World Cup.”

Tite has been at the helm of the Selecao since June 2016, and has restored your position in the centre of defence of his big project, what are your thoughts on this?

“He is a great coach I think one of the most important factors to his success is his approach, he prefers to talk to us in order to get his philosophy across.”

Miranda was then asked about his plans after thre World Cup in Russia in the summer stating that: “At the moment it is difficult to think about returning home, I stall have a few years left to play in Europe, I have a great affection for the fans of Sao Paulo so if I ever return I hope it will to Sao Paulo. However, I am a professional and I will fairly consider all my proposals. If each offer is more or less the same then I will pick Sao Paulo because it was my home for a long time and I still care for them.”

In conclusion Miranda was asked about the offers he has received stating that: “I have had a few calls but I’ve made it clear that I do not want to return to Brazil yet, so I have not considered anything too much because my plan is to stay in Europe for at least one more season after the World Cup.”
