After a year Inter is still looking for the star player that Spalletti desperately desires. According to Tuttosport, the most rumoured name in this sense, remains Arturo Vidal. It would be a Chilean gift for Spalletti if Inter make the Champions League.

A summer ago, before the government in Beijing froze investment into Chinese-owned clubs, Inter had received the blessing from Vidal, although Carlo Ancelotti still strongly opposed the transfer so it may not of happened anyway, despite their acquisition of Tolisso.

Ausilio and Sabatini were ready to exploit the discontent of the player, who would of gladly returned to Italy, after his Confederations Cup defeat.

However, Vidal has changed his tune, or at least just officially, stating “I’m not going to leave, I’m happy here in Munich, I want to renew my contract”. In contrast to this, Bayern has locked down on Leon Goretzka, which looks like the classic move to ensure a replacement for a player who will most likely be sold.

Therefore, if Vidal does not renew his contract with Bayern in the near future, Bayern will have to sell him in the Summer, to ensure that they avoid losing the player for free after June 2019.
