Inter played 4 games in February and started where they left off in January with a 1-1 draw at home to Crotone. Things looked rosier when they won against Bologna at the Meazza before losing 0-2 to an Goran Pandev masterclass in Genoa. We ended our February with a 2-0 win against Benevento where we scored twice from 2nd half set pieces.

One man amongst the squad stands up and performs regardless of the opponent, pressure, weather or any other factors that can effect a modern footballer. None other than Milan Skriniar. Therefore, its no surprise that he’s our Player of the month for the 2nd month running and in the top 3 for the 3rd consecutive month. Skriniar started with almost perfect performances vs Crotone and Bologna and did what he usually does. It says a lot about his team-mates that he wins this month as he played his worst of this season in Genoa. But he is a true champion and it was highlighted once again in the very next game where he not only helped keep a clean sheet (our first in 7 games, 56 days) but scored to make amends for that disastrous own goal in Genoa. He is a leader, a fighter and long may we see him defend these colors.

Coming in 2nd is none other than Rafinha Alcantara. Rafinha has played a total of 152 mins so far at Inter and for almost each minute of that he has been our creative outlet and already an on-pitch leader. His La Masia academy training is obvious and his quality is clear to see. Rafinha’s first appearance in February came off the bench against Crotone where he tried to break them down but failed. In spite of the result and the fact that he played 30 mins or so, he was awarded the man of the match for being a creative force. He came off the bench against Bologna again where he found Karamoh who finished a great move with an even better shot to break our lean streak. Against Genoa too he was the only one capable of starting a move but his player-of-the-match efforts went down the drain. Rafinha got his first start against Benevento where he looked a little behind everyone in fitness and the fact that his team-mates had a very poor first half didnt help matters.

Rounding up the top 3 is none other than our young French winger, Yann Karamoh. Yann got a few mins against Crotone but was unsucessful in breaking the deadlock and our streak. A first goal was around the corner and it came against Bologna in the very next game. A left footed thunderbolt was enough to end our 1-1 streak and give us a much needed win. As with everyone his worst performance came against Genoa where he seemed to be played out of position. He lost his starting place but when brought on against Bologna he showed that his understanding with Cancelo on the right is worth watching. One of our few positives in February.

Do you agree with the top 3? Should Spalletti persist with Rafinha and Karamoh playing together more often? Any other player that has caught your eye?
