Valencia are hopeful that Inter will take up their option to redeem Joao Cancelo in order to help their financial situation according to Spanish news outlet Plaza Deportiva.

Cancelo joined the Nerazzurri on loan in the summer as part of a deal that saw Geoffrey Kondogbia join the Spanish outfit with the same transfer formula. As part of each of the deals, there were buying options with Cancelo’s set at €35 million and Kondogbia’s set at €25 million.

Like Inter, Valencia are struggling with financial fair play and need the money to help them deal with that as well as help them toward redeeming Kondogbia.

The Portuguese full back has put in some good performances but whether or not that warrants being redeemed by Inter – who, as aforementioned have financial fair play problems – is as yet unclear. The 23-year-old has made 18 appearances thus far this season for the Nerazzurri and has made two assists.
