Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz has confirmed that the Turkish outfit are interested in turning Yuto Nagatomo’s loan stay in to a permanent one.

“With him on the field, so many Japanese people come to the stadium and this makes us happy. The club is negotiating for Nagatomo but if I speak about him, and the Italians are awake, they increase his price,” he told posta.com.tr.

Nagatomo joined Galatasaray on a dry loan at the end of the January transfer window and after 8 appearances he seems to have convinced the Turkish club’s officials to attempt to tie him down on a permanent basis.

The 31-year-old full back recently spoke on his future but did not give a lot away and admitted he was open to staying at Inter despite having to leave this term due to there being a lot of competition for places and no certainty that he would be guaranteed a starting berth most weeks.
