After coming 2nd place in the Slovakian player of the year award last night, Inter defender Milan Skriniar spoke with Pravda.sk today on the achievement.

“Marek is a giant in our nations football. First place belongs to him and I am happy to be the second in the standings.”

The centre back then discussed his future amid continued interest from some of European football’s top sides, admitting he is concentrated on Inter.

“The interest of other teams? I do not know anything about it, for now I’m only focused on performing with Inter. On Sunday we managed to break the negative series and win and we hope to be able to continue like this. We want to take full advantage of the next few matches to get into the top four so we can participate in next season’s Champions League.”

Skriniar has been near ever present for the Nerazzurri this season since joining in the summer from Sampdoria. The 23-year-old defender has far exceeded pre-season  expectations and continues to put in top performances every week so it comes as little surprise that some of the best sides want him in their team.
