How much longer will Andrea Pinamonti remain an Inter player? From now until the end of the season, Inter will need to consider new ways to manage their budget and will evaluate the future of the Italian striker. From a personal point of view, this season has been difficult for the young bomber. His time has been split between Stefano Vecchi’s Primavera (where he has played ten games, scoring seven goals and providing three assists) and the first team. Under Luciano Spalletti he has only made two appearances – a start against Pordenone in the TIM Cup, and the final minutes against Genoa. The rest of the time, he has been on the bench.

Considering how important match time is for the development of a player of Pinamonti’s age, it is difficult to see him remaining with Inter for the 2018-2019 season. It is much more likely that the club will send him away either on loan or, with the budget in mind, an outright deal. Finding suitors will not be a problem, the player is liked by several small to mid-size clubs throughout the Serie A. Last January Sassuolo were very close to the player but a deal could not be found. They are now joined by the likes of Crotone, Chievo, Verona, Sampdoria, Genoa and, most significantly, Cagliari.

According to FC Inter News, the Sardinian club of Tommaso Giulini are currently in pole position for the 18 year old. Both clubs have been in discussion for some time on a number of players, with Cagliari particularly interested in the jewels of Inter’s Primavera: Pinamonti, Jens Odgaard and Matteo Rover. For the club of Suning, the idea is to replicate the conditions it tried to set with Sassuolo in January: sell Pinamonti outright a fee of between €8-10 million before June 30 (to include the incoming fee to this years budget), and insert an option to buy back the player in two years

Another scenario which the Nerazzurri like would be similar to what they agreed with Sampdoria for the Caprari-Skriniar deal last summer. This time, however, it would involve Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella. It is no secret that Inter have long admired the 21 year old, however they are not willing to exceed a total cost of €20 million plus players for the midfielder. Achieve a big capital gain before the June 30 deadline, as well as securing Barella for July? Inter are putting together significant pieces of the puzzle.
