After being voted amongst the Paulistao top XI, Santos forward Gabriel Barbosa was asked questions about his future, particularly the fact that his card is still held by the Inter.

“I know that I must return to Inter, as it says so in my contract,” began the striker. “However, there is still a lot of time. I have a contract with Santos until the end of the year and it is my intention to enjoy this period. I do not want to think about returning to Italy just yet. When the time comes, we will fix things.”

The Brazilian, otherwise known as ‘Gabigol’, was one of the first signings of the Suning Group when they took over in 2016 – parting with €29.5million in exchange for the striker. After only nine appearances and one goal for the Nerazzurri, Barbosa spent six months loan at Benfica (five appearances, one goal), before returning to Santos on loan in January. The striker has found more success with his boyhood club, scoring four times since his return.
