Inter started with a 3 man defense to make up for a missing Marcelo Brozovic but conceded the most shots in the first half of this season. They changed to their regular shape soon enough but could not convert the chances that fell their way as Atalanta tired. Lets see how everyone fared:

Samir Handanovic – 8: Absolutely world class. We had no right to go into half time at 0-0.  Only player that looked like he cared in the first half. One of his best nights.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5.5: Not his fault that we started with a 3 man defence. But still didn’t manage to get forward even once in the entire game. 2nd half was better.

Milan Skriniar – 6: Looks like he’s running out of steam. Has played each and every game so that makes sense. He recovered well in the 2nd half but was scarred.

Miranda – 7: Old school defending from the Brazil international. He was pressed and harried all night. Only mistake was a conceding a couple of soft corners

Davide Santon – 5.5: Took him about an hour to venture forward with the ball. Played the safe pass most of the time. Didn’t make the cut as a wing back at the start.

Roberto Gagliardini – 6: Poor start and was missing his buddy Brozovic. But once he got his senses he pinged the ball forward, created chances and should have an assist.

Borja Valero  – 5: Always looks like he has run a marathon earlier in the day. When the ball is in the air he is helpless. Wasn’t able to string a single decent move.

Joao Cancelo – 6: Shocker of a first half.Gave the ball away a lot which led to a lot of chances. Turned it around in the 2nd with some quality play. Our best full back.

Rafinha – 6: Deserved a goal. Too bad he missed that chance. Everything we created came from his feet but he needs to find his shooting boots right now.

Ivan Perisic – 5: If you want to be considered a quality player you cannot miss chances like him week after week. Should have scored atleast one goal tonight.

Mauro Icardi – 5.5: Tried to get involved, played a lot deeper with a lot of flicks and tricks but never could make an impact in the box. Not enough from the captain.

Eder-6.5: For once his spark from the bench came at the right time. The game was perfect for him and he should’ve had an assist.Dangerous in his 20 mins.

Karamoh – N/A: Beyond comprehension that he comes on in the 89th minute when we so desperately need a goal and not when we are comfortably winning.

Luciano Spalletti – 4: What was that 3 man defence idea? Why not play Karamoh sooner? Why not play Candreva if you need a wingback as he does for the Azzurri?

Daniele Doveri – 5.5: Missed a couple of bookings and let Atalanta out-muscle Inter illegally too many times. Kept the game flowing for the 90 mins. It flew by.

Inter – 6: After that first half we deserved a 3 for turning up to the right stadium. We had a very good 2nd half. Should have converted our chances

What can be done to get our attack out of the woods? Did Spalletti try to much? Why isnt Karamoh trusted? Where is Dalbert? What is Borja’s best role? Please let us know in the comments below
