Gazzetta dello Sport are the latest news outlet to report that Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli’s future is in the balance.

The Milan based newspaper confirm the Rossoneri’s interest in Walter Sabatini, who only left rivals Inter a matter of weeks ago. Sabatini is understood to have met with emissaries from Milan in London, England but the outcome of the meeting is unknown.

Gazzetta do however stress that the former Roma and Lazio sporting director is not the only candidate being considered to succeed Mirabelli if he is to be relieved of his position with Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, Monaco’s Michael Emenalo and even former Milan director Ariedo Braida all under consideration.

Sabatini joined the Suning Group around this time last year and helped both of the Chinese group’s clubs Inter and Jiangsu Suning on the transfer market. Sabatini however struggled to replicate past success and he and Suning came to a mutual agreement to part ways.
