Inter legend Roberto Boninsegna spoke on this weekend’s Derby D’Italia with Juventus and Inter’s Champions League ambitions.

“I hope Inter wins. A draw is of no use to anyone. It would be a bit disappointing if Inter did not make the Champions League. The Nerazzurri got lost after winning the Triplete,” the former striker said when interviewed by Gazzetta dello Sport.

Boninsegna, who scored over a century of goals in Nerazzurro during a seven year spell, then weighed in on the ongoing debate of who is better between Inter captain Mauro Icardi and Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain.

“At this moment, Icardi is more incisive and decisive than Higuain is.”

Icardi has netted no less than 26 goals this season in 32 appearances across all competitions whereas Higuain has scored 22 goals in 45 games.

The Derby D’Italia is to take place this Saturday at the San Siro with kick off scheduled for 20:45 local time.
