At last night’s Gentleman award ceremony, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio was recognised for his 20 years of service to the Nerazzurri with the Uomi di Sport award.

“On the one hand I am happy and there is pride and on the other I start to think that it has been a long time,” he told Inter TV on the sidelines of the event. “In my case, I started in the youth sector and worked my way up to becoming head of the technical area.”

Ausilio then spoke on the work he does.

“In this line of work, it is a group effort, there is nothing personal. The people and staff you involve are just as important as the suggestions you make to the leadership.”

Ausilio was joined in getting a reward by Primavera coach Stefano Vechhi, first team players Milan Skriniar, Mauro Icardi and Yann Karamoh and the family of late Inter scout Pierluigi Casiraghi.
