Negotiations for Rafinha are beginning. Tuttosport claims that Barcelona has said no to the hypothesis of extending the loan, shattering Inter’s strategy and Mazinho, the father-agent of the Brazilian. The latter had been the spokesperson of the Nerazzurri but the Catalan Club countered his plan with justification of the midfielders excellent season finale, once he had found full fitness.

It is for this reason that Barca will grant no discounts, as they believe, they have a player of absolute quality. So, if Inter wants him, they must pay the €35 million (plus €3 million in bonuses, expected for Champions League qualification). Otherwise, Barcelona has made it clear to Mazinho that there will be no problem in finding the Brazilian another club of high level, unlike in January. The ball goes back to Suning.

Rafinha and Joao Cancelo have made a significant improvement to the squad but Inter are still bound by the settlement agreement to ensure they break-even and don’t over-spend. A loan extension would be the perfect resolution but only time will tell if Inter can get things their way or not.
