A quick check of the Instagram accounts of Mauro Icardi or Wanda Nara show the pair enjoying their end of season break on safari in Africa. Smiles are plentiful.

However, according to Premium Sport, the Inter striker would’ve preferred to have had his future sorted before leaving Italy. Indeed, the report suggests that Icardi was waiting for Inter to contact him (or his agent) but to no avail.

The Argentine striker is currently one of the most discussed names of the transfer market. It is no secret that the player has a release clause of €110 million valid for foreign clubs. This clause must be activated before July 15.

There is rumoured interest from Chelsea and Juventus (for whom the clause would not be valid), however the position of Inter management (Spalletti, Zanetti, Zhang and Ausilio) is that they would like to renew their contract of their star man, likely with a higher salary and release clause.
