Considering the last season, a renewal with Davide Santon comes out of the blue, his current contract expires 2019.

Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport explains: “The full back could turn out to be very useful both on the right side as well as on the left side and could be a name for the list of players emerging from the youth sector, something that UEFA likes.

“Another aspect is that a renewal could be useful in order to maintain a price tag that would otherwise move towards zero as his contract expiration dates gets closer and closer. The net profit today is around €3 million, a number that could increase should a contract renewal happen.

“One thing is certain though, should Inter not renew now, Davide Santon will leave because the player will not have another season when his contract situation is uncertain.

“Some clubs have made inquiries about Santon, one of them being Parma who thinks the Italian could be useful for their next project: playing in the Serie A for the first time in many years.”
