Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman will be Inter’s go to option if they are to miss out on signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele as per a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Following the arrival of Bryan Cristante at the Giallorossi from Atalanta yesterday, Roma’s midfield is now rather crowded which means the sale of a midfielder is likely with Strootman and Radja Nainggolan’s names both the favourites to be sold as reported by many media outlets.

The 28-year-old Dutchman only signed a contract extension to the end of the 2021/22 season last year but is now considering his future with the capital club as per the report from the Milanese newspaper who reiterate he has a €32 million release clause. Inter however could look to acquire him cheaper than that by sending a player(s) as part of any deal.

Strootman made a total of 44 appearances across all competitions for Roma last term where he managed to contribute one goal and one assist.
