Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti spoke on the launch of Inter’s Slovaian academy in an interview with Slovakian news outlet Futbol Pravda.

“I think that thanks to our experience we can help football grow in Slovakia, the academy is for this and not for doing scouting.”

Zanetti then proceeded to discuss Inter’s Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar.

“We are happy with the arrival of Milan in our family. He immediately showed great attachment to the club and professionalism. He had a great season.”

Zanetti then spoke on Inter’s return to the Champions League for the first time since the 2011/12 season.

“It is certainly very important for us to be back in the top European competition. The Champions League is the most important tournament in Europe and our presence will give it even more prestige. Every opponent has quality, we will have to prepare ourselves properly if we wish to succeed.”

He concluded the interview by sharing his disappointment that compatriot Mauro Icardi was snubbed for Argentina’s World Cup squad.
