Inter remain strongly interested in Fiorentina forward Federico Chiesa and are prepared to offer the equivalent of €70 million to bring the 20 year-old to Milan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Chiesa scored six goals and made nine assists for the Tuscan outfit during the 2017-18 season, as well as making his debut for the Italian national team, and is becoming one of the most hotly-contested players of this summer’s transfer window in Serie A, with several clubs eager to secure his services.

Fiorentina currently have no intention of selling the player, who is under contract with the club until 2022 after signing an extension in November, and rejected an offer of €50 million plus Adam Ounas and Marko Rog from Napoli during the January transfer window.

However Inter have not been deterred by the Viola’s current stance and are determined that they will be ready to pounce should they change their mind, with sporting director Piero Ausilio willing to offer up to three players along with a hefty sum of cash to acquire Chiesa’s signature.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter would be willing to offer Fiorentina €40-50 million plus Yann Karamoh, Dalbert and Primavera defender Federico Valietti in order to ward off the competition, although in order to do so they would likely need to sacrifice one of their more important players, such as Ivan Perisic or Marcelo Brozovic.

Chiesa is thought to be happy at Fiorentina and neither he nor father Enrico, who is also his agent, is in any rush to secure a move elsewhere, but should they choose to leave they would prefer to stay in Italy and are intrigued by Inter’s sporting project.
