Inter will begin their preparation for the 2018-19 season on 9 July before getting their program of pre-season friendlies underway five days later, as Gazzetta dello Sport wrote on Wednesday.

The Nerazzurri are set for a more efficient and productive pre-season than they have experienced in previous years thanks to a smaller and more localised program of fixtures, which will all take place in Europe, along with an efficient start to the transfer market and the news that only four of their players will be taking part in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Inter’s first outing of the new campaign is scheduled for Saturday 14 July, when they will face Swiss Super League side Lugano at the Cornaredo Stadium, and is likely to be followed by a couple of friendlies close to their Appiano Gentile training ground.

Following that they will complete their schedule with three matches in the International Champions Cup, all on European soil: against Chelsea, in Sweden, on 1 August; against Sevilla, in Lecce, on 7 August; and against Atletico Madrid, in Spain, on 12 August.

Gazzetta also reminded readers that Inter’s pre-season training camp this summer will not be open to supporters, as it will take place at the club’s Angelo Moratti Sports Centre (instead of Riscone di Brunico, with whom the club’s contract has now expired), which contains just one stand that can host 190 people.
