Napoli are ready to join Juventus and Inter in the race to sign Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Dembele has made 232 appearances for Spurs since joining the club in 2012 and will represent Belgium at this summer’s FIFA World Cup, but he now has just one year left on his contract and is unlikely to renew with the Premier League side.

Inter are thought to be keen on signing the 30 year-old as they look to reinforce their midfield ahead of next season’s UEFA Champions League, and began laying the groundwork for future talks with Tottenham when sporting director Piero Ausilio travelled to London last week.

However Corriere dello Sport believe that Napoli are now interested in the player too, although they still have some concerns about his fitness.

“Napoli have been thinking about [making a move for] him and they are still doing so,” they wrote on Wednesday, “aware that they would face stiff competition from Inter.

“There are several things they are reflecting on, such as his physical condition (which concerns them slightly) and his age, but the fact his contract expires next summer presents them with the opportunity to sit down with Spurs and look for an economically reasonable agreement.”
