Juventus manager Max Allegri has made the Bianconeri’s intentions clear with regard to Joao Cancelo in an interview with Sky Sports, hinting that they are set to sign him.

“He did well at Inter last term. Luciano Spalletti really helped him to improve, but I think he is a Valencia player. I think,” Allegri said when questioned on the Bianconeri’s interest in him.

Cancelo spent last season on loan with Inter but due to financial fair play, Inter were unable to turn his stay in Milan in to a permanent one which has lead to a number of other clubs igniting an interest in taking him. Juventus, alongside newly promoted Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers are understood to be among the front runners for the Portuguese’s signature which Valencia are quoting €40 million for.

While Allegri’s comments would seem to completely spell the end to Inter’s slim slim hopes of re-signing Cancelo, Inter appear to be remaining very much optimistic about being able to re-sign Rafinha, who, like Cancelo, was on loan at Inter during last season.
